Stones Retreat Day #1 - Family Photos

Tuesday after Dustin was finished with work we loaded up our rental car and were off on our 12 hour road trip to my home town of Moses Lake, Washington!  I am always so giddy when I'm headed home...I love going home!  The trip is a long one and I have a wonderful husband who allowed Will and I to sleep the entire way while he drove.  The drive was enjoyable...William snoozed pretty much the entire time and Dustin and I listened to 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' on tape{great book by the way}!

We pulled into the Stones Homestead at 2 AM!  We quickly unpacked the necessities for the night, fed will, and bunkered down in my parents cozy bed{yes my parents are too generous and put us in their own bedroom} for a few hours of shut eye!

William and I woke up at 7 AM sharp!  No sleeping in with a little munchkin.  We quietly crept out of our bedroom, so not to wake Dustin, and slowly explored the house.  We found Uncle Mattie and Aunt Abigail nestled behind the couch in the living room.  Grandma & Grandpa were just starting to wake up in their office.  Micaiah and Michael were sound asleep in one of the upstairs bedrooms, while Caleb, Rachel, and baby Lauren were fighting to get more Zzzs in the adjoining bedroom.  Downstairs Uncle Seth was asleep on the couch, while Jared & Karen were asleep on a mattress in the play area of the downstairs...their two little munchkins Kai and Jaxx were awake and trying to be oh so quite as they made their way upstairs to wake uncle Mattie!

Before 8 AM the whole house was bustling with hugs, hellos, and getting on a yummy breakfast spread!  The boys headed off to workout, the babies napped, Rachel baby-sat, and the girls went for a run/walk up the road!

After a pretty relaxed morning preparation for pictures began taking place...with that many people fighting to take a hot shower you have to stagger the process!  Unfortunately, I waited too long for my turn and ended up with a frigid shower...brrr!

At 2:15 we were out the door and on our way to take family pictures!  I just loved how they turned out!  It was pretty cold so we didn't last very long...but the photos we got were well worth it.

We finished off the evening with pizza, hot cocoa, tucked little ones in bed, and the adults{minus Grandma who stayed to watch the munchkins} were off to see the newest Hunger Games movie 'Mocking Jay Part 1'!  It was soooo good!

We arrived home to find Jaxx and Kai had moved from their scary room where trolls were lurking{scary stories told to the munchkins by their uncle caleb} to the much safer and cozy choose of upstairs couches, close by grandma:)  Our little munchkin had just woken up as well and greeted us with smiles from Grandmas arms!

Mom{Grandma} recounted the evenings events off two little boys scared of the trolls that Caleb had told them about.  She had tried to tell them a happy story of the three bears and snuggling up next to them{only to be told over an over again by little Jax 'I love you Grandma' or 'Want my pillow Grandma?'} with no luck.  So she made up two little cozy beds on her couches upstairs and that did the trick!

Thanks Grandma for babysitting!

After a few good chuckles and a night feeding for Will, we bid everyone good night and were sound asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows.
