Running injury

Some days are supposed to be easy run days...
Other days are supposed to be challenging running days...
But any run with an incapacitated ankle is grueling at best!

That's how my easy 3.5 mile run day went yesterday!

It all started Monday afternoon when I decided to embark on a quick 3 mile run. Less than a mile into my run my ankle proved to be problematic! There was a great deal of discomfort and soreness. I decided to push through it imaging that my foot was just having a mild tantrum that would soon end. By 2 miles my foot was causing me pure agony so I ended my run short and hit the weights to finish off my workout.

Yesterday I awoke with nearly no pain in my ankle so my smarts decided my ankle was fit for running capacity. Usually Tuesday is a hill day with my running partner Amber. We decided to run an easy 3.5 miles instead of the mountainous 5.

I was doing great 2/3 of the way until we hit some gradual inclines which made my ankle start smarting up!

I pushed through while replaying the mantra "I can do it" over and over again in my head!

At long last we made it back to our starting point with a throbbing ankle and two sweaty bodies!

It wasn't my most paramount run but I was pleased with my self regardless.

After my feat I was welcomed home by the aroma of freshly baked cornbread and chili made by my other half. I love my hubby:)

Then it was off to soak my feet in a hot bath of bubbles!

Today I will be staying off my ankle:)

Happy Wednesday!
