William Dustin Hansen
Baby Blessing
Blessed by his Father, Dustin Longin Hansen & Loved by his Mother, Sarai Rachel Hansen
William's Baby Blessing was very sweet and tender for both Dustin & I. I couldn't stop tearing up from the time we reached the church house until after we were home. It is so amazing how much I love our little munchkin. He has such a sweet countenance about him and has our little family bursting with joy!
I was overwhelmed by the amount of friends and family who showed up for William's blessing. Dustin & I are so lucky to blessed with wonderful families and friends that provide a great support system for us.
A 'thank you' to my parents for making the long trip from Washington multiple times for little William, Dustin, and Myself.
A big 'thank you' to all of our friends who brought drinks for the brunch afterwards.
A huge 'thank you' to Sarah, Shad, Mama Hansen, Papa Hansen, Zachary, Bethany, and anyone else that I missed who helped prepare the food for the brunch, cleaned the house, and readied the yard. The Hansen clan is a wonderful bunch.
A humongo bungo 'thank you' and 'bravo' to my husband who smoked sausage for the brunch.
Tender Moments To Remember:
William was blessed in the most gorgeous handmade white blanket from Bethlehem. My parents took a trip to Israel this last year and brought back these white blankets from Bethlehem. I remember when my parents gave me the blanket at Christmas time how emotional I had gotten. I was pregnant with William at the time and the thought of blessing my child in a blanket that came from the place where the Savior was born was very tender to me. I think of Mary and the emotions she must have felt swaddling her baby Jesus the night of his birth.
Mary's Lullaby
Lullaby, lullaby, my little one
Lullaby, my child so dear.
Thy precious life has just begun;
Thy mother holds thee near.
While Joseph watches through the night,
A star reflects thy radiant light.
Lullaby, lullaby, my little one
Lullaby, my child so dear.
Thy gentle head shall wear a crown,
For thy Father is the King.
Thy tender hands, so tiny now,
Have blessings great to bring.
Let all creation join my song,
For peace and love this night are born.
Lullaby, lullaby, my little one.
Lullaby, my child so dear.
Dustin did such a great job blessing William. You could just feel the love Dustin has for his son. The love that only a Father can express. I never want to forget the feeling that was there when Dustin blessed William. The spirit was very strong. Both Dustin & I freely let the tears flow during the blessing.
Here were a few things that I remember Dustin blessing William with during the blessing(I wish I had recorded the entire blessing):
'I want you to know how much your mother and father love you and how much your father in heaven loves you'
'I bless you to do well in school'
'I bless you to be kind' (I love this. I want my children to be kind and compassionate)
'I bless your mind to be sharp'
'I bless you to serve a mission and to have a love for the gospel'
'I bless you to have a good friend base'
thank you everyone who came and supported our little family. we love you all.
