For the life of me I cannot seem to get out bed in the morning to work out before my I have to be at the office...partially because of laziness, partially because I have been having this awful sinus pressure in my head. I used to set my alarm for 6:00 AM in the hopes that one of those morning I would miraculously jump out of bed with endless energy. Well I've had no such luck and was feeling more and more sleep deprived as I would sleep restless(guiltily) for the next hour and a half. So this week I decided I was going to just do afternoon workouts and let my body rest! It's been great so far. Mind you I love to get in my workouts before my day starts but right now my body is not even considering that as an option.
So yesterday was a little cloudy with little rain storms here and there...nothing too crazy. I thought a little run in a slight drizzle would be a nice way to cool down as the afternoon runs are super duper HOT that time of day! Well I started my run in a nice drizzle and ended my run in a Niagara Falls downpour! Once during my run a car pulled over with an adorable couple who asked if I needed a ride home...they were obviously concerned for my safety:) I told them "thank you very much but I'll be fine"! That run was intense but so much fun! Lightening was flashing all around me and the thunder was deafening. Not sure how safe it was to be out running around in it but it was a lot of fun! I have always loved the rain. I don't know what it is...maybe it's the way it makes me want to curl up on a cozy couch next to a fireplace with a good book and a cup of cocoa...or how I want to put on a pair of wellies, a trench coat, grab my umbrella and run outside in search of large puddles to jump in! Or maybe it's because the best movies always have the most romantic scenes in the rain. Whatever the case I love the rain. And yesterday I loved running in the rain.
Next time you consider not running outside because it's raining...just try it! You might love it!
