Thanksgiving Point Half
Time: 2:19
My Experience:
Couldn't sleep the night before because I was so nervous for my first half!
Taped up Ams(my running partner) leg in the car
We watched other runners like stalkers to see if they were going to wear their jackets(We had no idea)!
Made it to the start line 3 minutes before we had to start running
We had a moment of silence for the Boston Marathon bombing victims
I had to go to the bathroom so bad the first three miles...porta-potties never looked so good!
Felt very shaky until mile 6...where I had my first GU! Amazing!
Gardens were gorgeous
Lots and lots of hills
Figured out I can't drink water and run at the same time
Reached the golf course...more hills
Mile 9 started using my music...gave me a great adrenaline rush
Mile 11 legs felt like jello!
Amber coached me along
Mile 12 felt like a dream.
Mile 13 I got a huge adrenaline rush...
sprinted the last .10!
Finished!
Saw Dustin and I wanted to cry...I had completed my first half marathon!
It felt amazing, exhausting, & exhilarating all in one!
