By the time Friday rolls around I am more than ready to brush off work stresses, indulge in a late night movie, and treat myself to a few more hours of sleep in my comfy cozy bed!
But what takes a weekend from amazing to amazinger are house guests...the ones you like...such as chocolate(permanent house guest), sunshine, & sisters!
Abers(my youngest sister) decided to embark on a treacherous journey to attend BYU Idaho this last semester...and soon found that she needed an excursion away from the barren wasteland...
...so we welcomed her to the Hansen Bed&Breakfast. Home away from home!
We had a minor hiccup in plans as Abby and I have the same sense of direction (the wrong one). Not to worry...we soon found each other and lived happily ever after all weekend long!
Micaiah (older sister to Abby, younger sister to me) found Abby wondering around Provo and helped the lost pup find her way to my neck of the woods. Upon arrival the three of us found our way to a Great Harvest(a weekend favorite) for a dinner of soups and sandwiches that warmed the soul from the inside out!
With just enough room for dessert we scurried on down the road to The Chocolate for one large chocolate chip pazookie, a salted caramel brownie, German chocolate cupcake, one tall glass of 2% milk, another tall glass of whole milk, and a slice of the husband cake (for the husband) to go! Total...$24.59. Gorging yourself on chocolate with sisters...priceless!
If you have never spooned a mouthful of warm melt in your mouth chocolate chip pazookie topped with decadent vanilla ice cream into your mouth before...then you are missing out on one of life's treasures.
I also highly recommend their milk! I promise The Chocolate has the most amazing glass of milk you will ever indulge in, in your lifetime. If Santa knew about this place he would be too busy guzzling down their milk and cookies to drop off toys at anyone's house! I have tried repeatedly to duplicate this cup of goodness on my own and I fail each time! I am almost beginning to think they use some sort of secret ingredient!
The three of us filled every nook and cranny in our bellies with chocolaty goodness and then we rolled ourselves out the door, down the street, and back to our little abode.
Since we no longer fit comfortably in our jeans we resolved to wearing our comfy cozies(pajamas)&opted on watching a romantic comedy...this is quickly becoming the genre of choice at our house. We settled on "The Proposal".
We didn't make it through the first half of the movie before, one by one, the sandman came and took us away to dreamland.
I took full advantage of sleeping in the next morning before Abers and I decided to hit the gym for an endorphin spiking workout! I have decided Abby should be a personal trainer! The girl is ripped, motivational, and pushes you until you want to cry!
Afterwards, we had a large and in charge breakfast which included Jamba Juice steel cut oatmeal(my fav), eggs, and whole wheat toast! We were satisfied and needed a good movie and a nap! I love Saturdays for this very reason! You get to do as you please!
Following our lazy movie we decided to embark on one of our favorite past times...retail therapy! Good for the mind, body, and soul! We walked away with some great buys at our favorite stores. Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, and Nike(outlets of course)!
Where was Dustin during all of this action? Editing his DHI video! What is the DHI? The Dustin Hansen Invitational of course! It's a ping pong tournament that Dustin hosts every year at his parents house for his birthday. The main event, other than the winner of the tournament is the DHI video. Its usually a spoof off of popular youtube videos and inside jokes among friends.
After 11 years(or more) of hosting the DHI, Dustin finally took home the trophy of his own in invitational!
The weekend was a success...and might have almost revived me enough to tackle a grueling Monday at work...Almost:)
