Pregnancy Notes: Baby Reveal...

Introducing our little mr munchkin!!
Sorry for the inappropriate picture:)

Yesterday was our 'BIG' ultrasound!  They measured everything from our little guys head to his little feet.
When it came to trying to find out if our munchkin was a boy or girl that little pill closed it legs, then put it's hands down between its legs, and then the umbilical cord got in the way...I was beginning to think we weren't going to find out what we were having!!!  Don't get me wrong...I'm grateful my little one was being modest...but if there is ever a time you want someone to spread their legs...this was it!!  After a little nudging on my belly the ultrasound tech was able to move our little one just enough and...there it was...OUR LITTLE BOY!

I was so ecstatic!  So was Dustin!  He yelled 'my name lives on',did some air fist pumps...and then came over and kissed my hand, all while smiling like a kid in a candy shop!

I can't believe I am halfway through my pregnancy.  It makes me a little nervous thinking about how fast the first part of my pregnancy went...but in other ways I am more anxious than ever to meet our little mr!

I'm enveloped with thoughts of blues, greens, and baby boy names!!!  I've been holding off buying any 'baby' purchases until after we knew for sure what it was.  here's a look at my first two purchases...

1. Nursing pillow in 'Hush' from nursingpillow.com (FREE pillow (regular $40) when you use code: ABJANNP) while supplies last

2. Car seat canopy in 'Kennedy' from carseatcanopy.com (FREE canopy (REG $49.95 when you use promo code: AB01) while supplies last

Pregnancy Notes: 19 Weeks

19 Weeks & Growing
Oh my goodness I don't even know where to begin with this journal entry.  Some big big things are happening this week.  Such as...

1. The starting of a new Downton Abbey & Bachelor Season!!! (oh the joys of good television & good friends to watch them with)

2. We find out the gender of our baby on Thursday!!  But more importantly we find out if our little one is healthy(this has been my biggest concern throughout this entire pregnancy).

3. My last day with my current job is Thursday!!!  (More to come on this...but phew this is an extremely welcoming change).

My current pregnancy symptoms:

1. Felt the baby move for the first time over Christmas break at my parents.  And now I'm feeling the little munchkin moving around all the time!

2. My belly has officially 'popped' out!  I picked my husband up from the airport on Sunday (work trip) and his first words to me were, 'Woah!  You look pregnant!'

3. I still have nausea, morning sickness, & vomiting spells:(  This has to be my least favorite part of pregnancy.

4. After ripping the zipper out on a pair of my jeans...and my bum falling out of my other jeans...I decided to make my first (and much needed) maternity clothes purchases!  3 Pairs of pants, and a couple of shirts later... I am a happy and comfortable woman growing into (instead of out of) my clothes!

5. Very dry, tight skin...using lots of lotions and oils to combat this one!

6. Nesting mode has completely enveloped me!  Which is sooo hard due to the fact that we are currently renting a basement apartment.  Our plan is to purchase our first place either right before or right after the baby is born.  So I'm trying to stick to little home projects that can be moved with us!

Dustin's Pregnancy Symptoms:

PREGNANCY BRAIN!  Seriously!  This guy has it much much worse than I do!  Last night we were headed to our friends house for an episode of the bachelor.  After he helped me into the car he made his way to the driver side and instead of getting in the drivers door he opened up the passenger door(behind the drivers seat) and sat down! It took him about two seconds to realize he was sitting in the wrong seat.  He jumped up exclaiming 'What am I doing?'  Needless to say we were both laughing for a long while after this.

Pregnancy Cravings:  Cheerios!!!! Lots and lots of cheerios!

Pregnancy Weight: 123 lbs

Week: 19

Pregnancy Notes:15 weeks....

{booties via Target...the only ones I could find that weren't blue or pink}

Today marks my official 15 week mark!  {yay!!!}

I'm going to start tracking my baby bump...er my bump that looks like I ate a few too many donuts;) soon!  I tried taking a few pictures by myself this morning...but I couldn't find my tripod and Dustin is away on a business trip.  He'll be back tomorrow...so I'll have him snap a few then!

15 week symptoms:

  • I'm still super nauseous&still throw up a lot...{this has been the hardest part for me so far}
  • I'm constantly congested...going through lots of kleenex's around here these days;)
  • Belly has started showing a little bit
My next appointment is Monday...and I am so unbelievably nervous & excited at the same time!  I hope my baby is growing big & strong in there!

I started taking fitness classes at my local req center and love them!  I have fallen in love with their spin classes and the "lift" class(weights).  I need a little more motivation these days and these classes certainly give me that motivation. My goal is to stay toned and fit...and to stay eating healthy.  I'm trying not to give in to my sweet tooth cravings too often...as I always feel so sick afterwards {sugar & I don't mesh to well during pregnancy}.

I am getting more and more excited at the idea of having my little one here with me in 25 weeks.  It seems so far away...yet at the same time I feel like I'll never have enough time to prepare myself for our little munchkin.

I love you little one...grow strong and healthy!  Xoxo

Pregnancy Notes: Oh to feel normal again...

I want to remember each one of my pregnancies (well parts of my pregnancies I could do without remembering...uh hem...throwing up and such). So after looking through countless ideas for pregnancy journals I figure our family blog is the best way for me to journal my experience.

As I am barely in my second trimester I'm really pretty sick right now and I currently work at a job that gives me more anxiety and stress than I know what to do with...I mean some of my co-workers make coffee nervous! {I don't drink coffee but I think it gets my point across}

My goal is to focus on the positives...

With that being said I do want to remember the days like today where I've cried since the moment I woke up (hormones + nausea = horrible sick scientific experiment reactions), snapped at my husband who told I joke I didn't think was funny in the moment(which led to instant guilt...which led to more tears), pulled over twice on the way to work to spew my breakfast all over the frosted road; the day my nervous making coffee co-workers heard me wretching my guts out in the employee restroom, and where I feel extremely frumpy because I was too sick in the moment to have cared what I really looked like, my pants feel too tight, my belly pokes out, and I need a serious shopping spree because I hate everything I own in my closet!

{My hope is I'll look back on these posts and laugh:)}

Back on the positive track...

Despite everything I mentioned above I have so many things to be grateful for during this pregnancy.  I have the most amazing support team made up of My Mom (who had 6 horrible pregnancies but 6 amazing kiddos herself), My Sister (whom I work with & helps make work bearable), the rest of my immediate family, my in-laws(so glad they let us come over for a good home cooked meal when cooking is out of the question), my extremely patient and doting husband (gives me back rubs the moment I walk in the door from work, cooks meals, cleans the house, loves me unconditionally, etc. etc...honey, I will never be able to thank you enough for all you do).

Some of the other things I am grateful for during this pregnancy:

-Pregnancy Meds: Zofran, Unisom&B6 cocktails
-My amazing Dr. & his office staff
-Heat packs for my back
-Bubble baths (my go-to soother)
-Friends who have been pregnant or are pregnant that I can talk to
-A big thank you to my running buddy Amber for still going with me even though I'm slow
-Good health insurance
-Priesthood blessings
