William Dustin Hansen 4 Month Update

4 Month Update

Height: 26 Inches
Weight: 16.5 Pounds
Diaper Size:3

Loves: Blowing bubbles. Holding knees to chest.  Curious George stories before naps, bedtime & any time in between.  Has really started to enjoy his 'Jungle Gym', complete with hanging jungle animals and mirror.  FOOD(this kid loves to eat!).  Mommy & Daddy!

Milestones: Started eating rice cereal-he has a hard time eating it from a spoon so a lot of the time I put it in his bottle.  He is grabbing toys now and sucking on them. In fact most things go straight to this munchkins mouth these days.  He has started rolling over from front to back...not consistently, but he sure knows how to do it!  Yay little munchkin.  I instantly turn into his little cheer leader anytime he rolls over! He is giving BIG BELLY LAUGHS that Dustin and I just adore!

I have started sleep training this little munchkin to help ensure that he and I both get a better nights sleep.  I usually give him a bath(which we have reduced to every other night due to his dry skin...), read a story, say prayers, and then nurse this munchkin to sleep between 8-9 PM.  He has been waking up around 1-2 AM.  I let him cry for 15 minutes followed by me going into his room, calming him down, re-wrapping him, and then leaving the room.  Repeat.  Sometimes it only takes once of me going in an calming him.  And other times it takes a bit longer:).  He will usually go back to sleep until 4 or 5 AM.  I feed him and put him back to bed until he wakes up at 7:30-8 AM.

I'm trying to get up after his 5 AM feed to get in my work and workout before William wakes up and Dustin heads off to work.  This has only happened a handful of times, but when it does I feel so productive before the sun has even come up!

This week I noticed little dry patches on Will's stomach, legs, back, and arms.  His little cheeks were rosier than usual and pretty dry.  I also noticed a rash  under his chin.  I took him into the Pediatrician yesterday and the poor kid has a fungal infection under his chin and eczema:(  On top of that the pediatrician noticed his circumcision was starting to grow back, so he had to pull the tip of his little privates out...it was this or re-circumcising later down the road.  It was traumatizing for both mommy and munchkin.

Two prescriptions, lessened bathing, and a moisture locking lotion later and this little munchkin is feeling much better.

I love you little munchkin.  This has been the fastest four months of my life! Xoxo, Mommy
