The whole Stones Clan migrated from various parts of the country to enjoy Conference Weekend in Utah! We kicked off the weekend with a big family dinner at India Palace in Provo. If you have not been to this place you need to go! It is delish! Luckily for us they just opened another one in South Jordan, Utah...nothing beats good food in your backyard!
After dinner we had an impromptu photo shoot (stones tradition) followed by a walk down the street to take a look at the new temple being built.
Then the gang found their way back to our place in South Jordan where we celebrated Jared's 29th birthday with root beer floats, cupcakes, grapes&cheese, and the best chex mix your taste buds have ever experienced(thank you Cindy for the recipe).
The night ended with a very competitive Wii U tournament!
Saturday; mama stones, papa stones, and I ran a leisurely 3.3 miles followed by a ginormous breakfast of buttermilk waffles, eggs, sausage, chocolate&walnut muffins...while listening to the first session of General Conference.
After breakfast we loaded up the cars and headed up to Salt Lake where we had tickets to the second session of General Conference. It was amazing! I always love getting to go inside of the conference building for conference...there is just something very awe inspiring about it.
Favorite moment was when the prophet walked in and everyone stood and was silent.
When the session ended we headed to another favorite restaurant, Kneaders!
Then the boys headed to Priesthood...and the girls headed to the outlets for some shopping! I think we all come away satisfied.
That night we celebrated Jared's birthday yet again with Chocolate pie....laughed until we cried about "I'm stuck"(Jaxxon Quote) and finally drifted off to our bedrooms to get some much needed sleep.
Sunday morning was a bittersweet moment as I said goodbye to my mama, papa, and Abers....actually there really wasn't anything sweet about it...I was very sad!
Luckily, Jared, Karen, & the munchkins were able to stick around for the morning. We had planned on attending the conference center for the first session of Sunday conference...and we were inside the building...only to be told all the seats were full! It was disappointing.
So we cut our losses and headed back to our house, yet again, where we all watched conference. Afterwards Jared and Karen wrestled the munchkins into the car and started their trek back to California.
Dustin and I finished off our Conference Weekend by watching the last Sunday session together followed by dinner with the Hansen Clan.
Happy Conference Weekend! Xoxo
