Christmas Part #1: Leavenworth

I'm are going to skip the first two days of our trip and get down to the good stuff but here is a quick recap...

Saturday: Dustin, Myself, and Seth (my little brother) drove 12 hours from Salt Lake to Moses Lake.   I was really nervous driving this long with being pregnant and all that comes with it.  Nausea, frequent bathroom breaks, etc. etc.  The first 6 hours I did fabulous!  After that it was a downward spiral.  We reached my parents house just in the nick of time when I thought I wasn't going to be able to stomach one more minute of being in a car.  After adequate squeezes and hugs were given I treated myself to a bowl of my mom's delicious potato soup and then it was off to bed to recoup from my very trying day;)

Sunday: Slept in.  Got ready for church.  Went to church.  Played with the munchkins and the family.  Ate a wonderful Sunday dinner.  Played with the munchkins a little more.  Munchkins went to bed.  Adults stayed up and played liars dice (which has become my dad's favorite game)!

And here we are to....

...Monday: Our traditional trip to Leavenworth

There are few things that get me into the Christmas spirit like a trip to Leavenworth does!  This town was made for Christmas.  People come from all over the globe to relish in it's magical atmosphere.    This little winter wonderland replicates a Bavarian style village.  Complete with it's own Kris Kringle Shop, Hat shoppe, Soup Cellar, Glass shop, Candy shop, a million little food stores with foods from all over the world, and about the same amount of adorable little boutiques.  And I haven't even mentioned the sledding hill!

Our first stop was the Soup Cellar where you can order anything from a hamburger and fries to a three meat bratwurst plate.  The munchkins of course only wanted a PB&J sandwich...which as luck would have it..they had on their menu:)

The Soup Cellar is famous for it's gourmet hot cocoa...of course we ordered all around at our table.  In the excitement of getting my food and cocoa I spilled my entire cup of cocoa all over myself.  It splatted over my jacket and shirt and landed squarely in my lap where it then seeped into my pants and around to my backside.  Oh lovely day!  My cute sister-in-law Karen took it upon herself to clean me up as best she could.  I was so cold, wet, and gross feeling it sort-of ruined me appetite:(  Needless to say I still ate my delectable burger and then Dustin, Myself, and my sister Abigail headed off in search of a boutique with a cute pair of sweats or pants.  Abigail found me the most comfy cozy pair of sweats in the first boutique we tried!

After I was clean and dry we headed off again to explore the little town of Leavenworth.

When we joined back up with the group little munchkin Kai (he's 4) came up and felt my pants and asked if I was all dry again?  He is such a little cutie pie!

Unfortunately, by the time we finished dinner and cleared up the cocoa catastrophe most of the little shops in Leavenworth were closed...including my beloved Kris Kringle Shop.

So we headed to a candy shop across the way and to the hat shoppe and finally made our way to the sledding hill where Kai, Jared, Abigail, Grandpa, and Seth all had a ball!

Little Munckin Jaxxon (he's 3) preferred to sit on the hay bails and sing Jingle Bells over and over again.
